FAQ on CBD

Full Spectrum, Whole Plant

WHOLE PLANT MEDICINE—WE DO NOT USE CBD MADE FROM ISOLATE, INSTEAD WE FOUND THAT THE WHOLE PLANT HEMP EXTRACT WITH A FULL CANNABINOID PROFILE AND MANY OF THE OTHER COMPOUNDS WORKING TOGETHER — TO BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE.

Your body’s endocannabinoid system has receptors, and the full spectrum of cannabinoids in the plant work in concert more efficiently and effectively than isolated on its own.

“CBD oil contains high levels of omega-3 and omega-6, which are essential fatty acids used in the body. Fatty acids are vital to maintain healthy skin — they keep the cell membrane flexible and lock in moisture. ”

CBD for Beauty

Scientists are finding more evidence that CBD can treat skin disorders like acne, dry skin, psoriasis, and eczema. Inflammation is the root cause of many of these skin woes. Because of cannabinoids’ anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, using it can reduce puffiness, swelling, and even soreness. It can be an all-in-one solution because of its ability to target those problems simultaneously.

How does CBD Work?

We are all born with this complex network of cells within our central nervous system. These cells all have receptors which act like a lock and key, where the receptor is the lock, and the keys are different cannabinoids entering your system to match their target. These receptors are called CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are commonly found in the central nervous system, heart, GI tract, kidney, bones, joints and skin.

Rather than ingesting CBD orally, which will affect the whole body and can take up to 2 hours or more to fully experience the effects, the topical application of cannabinoids allows them to be absorbed directly into the application area for faster and more focused relief.

Like all CBD hemp oil products, CBD oil topicals are not intoxicating, and since the cannabinoids in these topicals interact with CB2 receptors near the skin, activating the endocannabinoid system, they are never absorbed into the bloodstream.

CBD is also more absorbent to the skin than THC and other cannabinoids and are more likely to stimulate the CB2 cannabinoid receptors, making them the popular choice for topicals.

“Scientists refer to CBD as a “promiscuous” compound because it confers therapeutic benefits in many different ways while tapping into how we function physiologically and biologically on a deep level. Extensive preclinical research and some clinical studies have shown that CBD has strong anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, anti-depressant, anti-psychotic, anti-tumoral, and neuroprotective qualities. Cannabidiol can change gene expression and remove beta amyloid plaque, the hallmark of Alzheimer’s, from brain cells.”

Is CBD legal?

Yes, if it’s extracted from Industrial Hemp.

CBD comes from the cannabis sativa plant. If the plant has less than 0.3% THC content — in accordance with the Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014, aka the Farm Bill — it’s considered hemp. If it’s got more THC, it’s considered cannabis, not hemp, which makes it illegal in states that don’t allow medical or recreational marijuana.

Our CBD products use Industrial Hemp derived from the whole plant, and it is grown in Oregon. Our products are legal to sale online and in stores, and you don’t have to go to a dispensary to get them. Visit the studio during shop hours or find them via our stocklist.

What is CBD? An excerpt from Project CBD

Cannabidiol—CBD—is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammationpainanxietypsychosisseizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.

Scientific and clinical research—much of it sponsored by the US government—underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including arthritisdiabetesalcoholismMSchronic painschizophreniaPTSDdepressionantibiotic-resistant infectionsepilepsy, and other neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrable neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere. Further evidence suggests that CBD is safe even at high doses.
