Burn One Down— Wood Burning Workshop With Yerba Buena Farm

yerba buena means THE GOOD HERB

Yerba Buena Farms certainly do have some good herb, but they also have all the good vibes to go along with it. I was so happy to have the chance to collaborate with them and hear about their process and journey to becoming one of Oregon's trusted Clean Green Farms.

For our Make & Mary workshop together, Yerba set up information stations that gave us an opportunity to learn about all their processes for cultivating quality cannabis. Attendees walked through one-by-one to converse with growers, cultivators, and trimmers. They brought amazing pictures and props to share so that we had a chance to see the farm up close and get sense of who they were. But, there was also fun to be had. Everyone got to mix they're favorite strains and come up with clever re-names for a chance to win some fun prizes. Of course we got to test out the products too!

Operations Manager, Laura Rivero talked about the history and rich culture of the farm, and gave us insight to how farming comes with responsibility.

“It means being good to oneself, to one another, and to the earth. We believe in sustainable growing methods, earth friendly practices, and participating in the community that surrounds us.”

Combine all that cannabis learning with a little crafting, and you couldn't ask for a better night. Naturally the art of wood burning was what we chose for the workshop. Each person received a beautiful wood tray, some designs, templates, and of course a wood burning tool. I was pretty impressed with everyones work. Wood burning is also know as Pyrography, it's old school, a little smokey and a lot of fun. I'm sure we will be doing this class again!

Thanks to Eban Waggoner for some of these great photos!
